{Derek and Michelle}

Like many of my couples that I have worked with this year, Derek and Michelle had been dating for several years, prior to making the decision to tie the knot!  When Michelle contacted me to shoot their engagement session in Troy, Ohio (where Derek grew up), she was pretty upfront about the fact that I would not be shooting their wedding on Sanibel Island in Florida.  She planned to hire a professional photographer down there to save costs, etc.  I was fine with that.  Well, not really.  But, she thought I was.  Hee hee.  Actually, my plan was to have such an outstanding engagement session for them, that they simply HAD to hire me to shoot the wedding.  A few weeks after receiving their engagement pictures, Michelle called me, and I was hired.  Yay!!

Flying down to Florida I had sooooo many ideas for shots of them.  The beach!  Oh, the possibilities.  We don't have these sorts of backdrops in Ohio, you know.  So, as you could imagine, I was extremely excited to capture this gorgeous couple on the beach for their breathtaking day!

The ceremony actually took place in May.  Then, in July, they hired me to come out for a beautiful reception at The Willow Tree in Tipp City, Ohio, with just the right amount of stunning vintage flare!  It was a perfect night...twice.

Thank you, Derek and Michelle, for letting me be a part of your year!  It was a magical experience!

Now on to The Willow Tree...

*Thank you to Erica for shooting this wedding with me in Sanibel Island, FL, as well as doing Michelle's make-up perfectly, as always.  :-)
